Here are some ideas to keep your momentum moving forward and your focus sharp as you develop your fledgling business.
Learn to tell your story. Show how you’re addressing a problem and don’t be afraid to get creative with your storytelling approach. (Find invaluable information about storyboarding here.)
Know your market/opportunity outside of personal experience. Work with others who can offer valuable insights and even counterpoints.
Be adaptable. Your business may have to radically shift depending on needs and/or opportunities. Embrace change or be left behind. (Suggestion: conduct a SWOT Analysis to get a deeper perspective on your idea.)
Network. Cultivate local, regional and national/international relationships.
Focus on service. You might have the greatest product in the world but how you deliver it makes all the difference.
Accept failure and move on. Rejection is always hard but it’s part of the startup process. It’s your next step that truly defines who your startup is.
